  • TALK OF THE TOWN 11/19-BLAME IT ON THE REFS! WHY THE QUESTIONABLE CALL AT THE END OF MONDAY’S GAME: 1: WASN’T A BAD CALL AND 2: DIDN’T COST THE PATS THE GAME

    Patriots 7-2 at Panthers 6-3

Let’s start, no score and Panthers QB Cam Newton throws to the endzone and finds Brandon LaFell…TOUCHDOWN PANTHERS! That puts the cats up 7! 10-3 Panthers now and and Pats QB Tom Brady throws to Rob Grownkowski for a TD and we are tied at 10! 3rd quarter now and Cam throws to Greg Olsen for a TD and the Panthers are back up 7! 20-17 Pats now and Cam Newton finds Ted Ginn Jr for a TD and the Panthers are up 24-20! 3 seconds left now and Tom Brady throws to the endzone and Rob Gronkoswki but Gronk is obviously held, a flag is thrown but then picked up because the official said the pass was uncatchable, at first I was like…SERIOUSLY?!?!?!? But when I watched the replay the refs got it right, Gronk was too deep in the endzone the pass was like 6 yards in front of him, he wouldn’t have caught it. The Pats had multiple chances to score another TD, Brady threw a pick and Stevan Ridley fumbled it when the Pats were driving in the 2nd quarter. Anyway, Panthers win 24-20!

    Key Players

Patriots QB Tom Brady: 29-40, 296 Yds, TD, Int
Panthers QB Cam Newton: 19-28, 209 Yds, 3 TD

Howard and that’s a 52 yard touchdown and Alabama is up 10-7! 2nd quarter now and McCarron throws to the endzone and finds Kevin Norwood for a touchdown and Alabama is up 17-7! But then on 3rd down for LSU and LSU QB Zach Mettenberger throws over the middle to Travin Dural and that cuts the lead to 3! 17-17 now but Alabama hands it off to TJ Yeldon who runs it in for a TD and Alabama is up 7! 4th quarter now and Yeldon runs for a score! LSU WR Jarvis Landry: 5 Rec, 90 Yds
Alabama WR Kevin Norwood: 4 Rec, 38 Yds, TD

2 Florida State 8-0 at Wake Forest 4-5

Let’s start, 14-0 Florida State and FSU QB Jameis Winston throws to the endzone and finds Kelvin Benjamin for a touchdown and FSU is up 21! By the way Wake Forest completed 7 passes, they also turned the ball over 7 times. 2nd quarter now and Nate Andrews catches a interception and runs it 50+ yards to the house and FSU is up 28! Later in the 2nd Wake Forest fumbles, Florida State’s Jalen Ramsey picks up the fumble and returns it all the way for a touchdown and that makes it 35-0! FSU goes on t0 win 59-3! Florida State has won all 9 games by double digits! FSU QB Jameis Winston was 17/28 for 159 yards, 2 TD’s and an interception.

Q&A: Who would you put at 3, an unbeaten Ohio State or an unbeaten Baylor?

A: Well, everyone is saying the BIG10 is so weak so most people would put Baylor in front of OSU. In my opinion the Big 10 is better than the Big 12, think In the AP Top 25 The Big 10 has 3 teams in the top 20, the BIG 12 only has 2. The Big 12 has no depth. The Big 10 has Nebraska, Michigan, Northwestern, and Minnesota to name a few. In the mid range of the BIG 12? Kansas State, West Virginia and Texas Tech. Do you see my point? Now i’m leaving you a question: where is the hole in Ohio State?

    Mississippi State 4-4 at 15 Texas A&M 7-2

Let’s start no score and Johnny Manziel, in possibly his last home game at Texas A&M rolls to his left and throws to the endzone, Malcome Kennedy grabs it for a touchdown, Texas A&M up 7. 7-7 and Sam Moeller blocks a punt out of the endzone for a safety! Texas A&M is up 9-7! 23-14 Texas A&M now and TA&M QB Johnny Manziel throws deep to Malcome Kenedy for another touchdown and Texas A&M is winning 30-14! After Mississippi State picked Manziel off it’s 36-20 Texas A&M but Mississippi State pitches it to receiver Joe Morrow who throws it deep to Jameon Lewis for a touchdown and that cuts the lead to 10! Then, 4th quarter and the Aggies would get a nice return then Johnny Manziel threw a TD, Aggies go on to win 51-41! Texas A&M has scored 40+ points in 13 straight games.Johnny Manziel was 30/39, with 446 yards, 3 interceptions, and 5 TD’s!

    9 Auburn 8-1 at Tennessee 4-5

Let’s start, 6-6 and Tennessee ball, they hand it off to Rajion Neal who runs it 19 yards for a touchdown and Tennessee is up 13-6! 13-13 now and Auburn’s Chris Davis returning a kick and Davis makes a bunch of guys miss and runs it all the way for a touchdown and Auburn is up 20-13! 27-20 Auburn now and Auburn hands it off to Nick Marshall, Marshall runs it around the defense…TOUCHDOWN and Auburn is up 14. 34-20 Auburn now and Auburn’s Corey Grant returning a kick and he returns it 90 yards for a touchdown and Auburn goes on to win 55-23! Auburn’s Nick Marshall had a Passing TD, an interception, 214 running yards and 2 running TD’s. Auburn runningback Tre  Mason had 20 carries for 117 yards, and 3 TD’s.

    Virginia Tech 6-3 at 11 Miami 7-1

Let’s start, 7-0 Miami but Virginia Tech hands it off to Trey Edmunds who runs it in for a touchdown and we are tied at 7. 21-14 Virginia Tech now and VT QB Logan Thomas throws to Joshua Stanford who breaks 5 tackles and scores a touchdown, VT up 14! But Miami started a rally, 35-17 Tech but Stephen Morris throws deep to Allen Hurns for an 84 yard touchdown! But the rally is stopped as Edmunds runs it in for another TD, VT goes on to win 42-24! Miami QB Stephen Morris was  16/29, 324 yards, 2 TD’s and VT QB Logan Thomas was 25/31 with 366 yards and 2 TD’s

Q&A: Who will win the ACC Costal?

    MY PROJECTED ACC COSTAL STANDINGS

    # Name   Projected Conference Record

    1 Duke 6-2
    2 Virginia Tech 6-2
    3 Miami 5-3
    4 Georgia Tech 5-3
    5 Pittsburgh 4-4
    6 North Carolina 3-5
    7 Virginia 0-8

Why? Duke has home field advantage next week vs Miami. They have already beat VT so they have the tiebreaker there. However If Miami beats Duke than I think VT will win the Costal because VT has tiebreaker over Miami so assuming Duke/VT  doesn’t drop an easy game The Duke-Miami game will determine the winner. However if Georgia Tech beats Clemson that adds a whole nother problem because GT has tiebreaker over Duke but Duke has tiebreaker over VT however, VT has tiebreaker over GT so it’s just a lot of crazy.

    19 UCLA 6-2 at Arizona 6-2

Let’s start, 7-3 UCLA and UCLA QB Brett Hundley runs it in for a touchdown and UCLA is up 11. After Myles Jack recovered a fumble, 24-19 UCLA and Myles Jack runs it down the sideline and that’s a TD, UCLA up 31-19. On Arizona’s last chance QB BJ Denker threw an interception, and UCLA wins 31-26. Denker was 20/33 with 186 yards, 2TD’s and an interception. UCLA QB Brett Hundley was 18/25, with 227 yards, 2 throwing TD’s and a running TD.

    22 Arizona State 6-2 at Utah 4-4

Let’s start, 12-7 Utah and Utah QB Travis Wilson throws to the endzone and finds Sean Fitzgerald for a touchdown and Utah is up 12. But Arizona State QB Taylor Kelly runs it in for a score and that cuts the lead to 5. Then Kelly throws over the middle to Richard Smith…TOUCHDOWN! The two point conversion failed so Arizona State is up 20-19. But on Utah’s last chance they throw an interception and Arizona State wins 20-19! Arizona State QB Kelly was 19/31 with 144 yards and a touchdown, and 2 running TD’s. Utah QB Travis Wilson was 6/21, with 121 yards, 2 TD’s and 2 INT’s.

    8 Missouri 8-1 at Kentucky 2-6

Let’s start, 3-0 Kentucky and Mizzou QB Maty Mauk throws to Dorial Green-Beckham for a touchdown and Mizzou is up 7-3! 14-3 now and Mauk throws to Green-Beckham for another score, Mizzou up 21-3! 28-10 Mizzou now and Mauk throws to Green-Beckham who makes an amazing catch for a score and it’s 35-10 Mizzou. 35-17 Mizzou now and Mauk throws to Green-Beckham for another TD and Mizzou goes on to win 48-17. Mauk was 17/28, 203 yards, and 5 TD’s. Green-Beckham had 7 catches for 100 yards and 4 TD’s

Q/A Who will win the SEC East?

    MY PROJECTED SEC EAST STANDINGS

    #-Team-Projected Conference Record

    1 Missouri 7-1

    2 South Carolina 6-2

    3 Georgia 5-3

4 (tie) Florida, Vandy, and Tennessee 3-5

    7 Kentucky 0-8

No crazy ties here, just the fact that if Missou wins out they win the SEC East. It won’t be easy though, if they lose to Texas A&M then South Carolina will likely win the East because the Gamecocks have a tiebreaker over Mizzou.

    23 Notre Dame 7-2 at Pittsburgh 4-4

21-21 now after Notre Dame QB Tommy Rees throws 2 interceptions Pittsburgh hands it off to James Connor who powers it through for a touchdown! Last chance for Notre Dame, 4th down the pass is off and…INCOMPLETE! Pitt wins 28-21!  This is Pitt’s first win vs a AP ranked Notre Dame since  2004.  Notre Dame QB Tommy Rees was 18/38, 318 yards 2 TD’s and 2 Interceptions.

    Nebraska 6-2 at Michigan 6-2

Let’s start, 13-10 Michigan and Nebraska ball, QB Tommy Armstrong Jr. flicks a pass to Ameer Abdullah who dives for a touchdown! Nebraska up 4! A minute left, 4th down for Michigan, the last chance for the Wolverines and the pass is incomplete! Nebraska wins 17-13! This snaps Michigan’s 19-game home winning streak. Abdullah had 27 carries for 105 yards, a running and a receiving TD.

Texas 6-2 at West Virginia 4-5

Let’s start, 26-16 West Virginia and Texas ball, QB Colt McCoy throws deep to Mike Davis for a touchdown and that cuts the lead to 6. Texas took the lead and it’s 37-33 but West Virginia QB  Paul Millard throws over the middle to Mario Alford who runs it for  a touchdown! West Virginia up 3. Then Texas’ last chance Colt McCoy’s pass is complete! Texas kicks a field goal, it’s good, we are going to overtime! 40-40 now in overtime and on the play action McCoy throws to the endzone, TOUCHDOWN! Then, 4th down for West Virginia, the last chance and it’s intercepted! Texas wins 47-40! McCoy was 27/49 with 283 yards, 3 TD’s and an interception. West Virginia running back Charles Sims had 24 runs for 93 yards and 3 TD’s.

    USC 6-3 at Cal 1-8

Let’s start, no score and USC’s Nelson Agholor returns a punt 75 yards, cutting through the defense for a touchdown and it’s 7-0 USC.  28-14 USC now, Cal punting again and it’s blocked by Soma Vainuku, Josh Shaw catches the block and returns it for a TD USC is up 21! 2nd quarter now and Agholor returns a punt 93 yards for another TD! USC  crushing Cal. 41-14 USC now and USC hands it off to Javorius Allen, Allen goes 79 yards untouched for a touchdown and USC goes on to win 62-28. USC QB Cody Kessler was 14/17 with 170 yards and 2 touchdowns. USC runningback Javarious Allen had 6 carries for 135 yards, 2 TD’s and a receiving TD.

    Vanderbilt 4-4 at Florida 4-4

Let’s start, 31-10 Vandy and Florida QB Tyler Murphy throws to the endzone, it bounces off the defense, then off Ahmad Fulwood then Fulwood catches it for a Florida TD! Okay, let’s go back to the first quarter, 3-0 Vandy and Vandy hands it off to Jerron Seymour who breaks a few tackles and scores, Vanderbilt up 10-0! Florida QB Murpy threw 3 interceptions in the loss. This is Vanderbilt’s first win vs Florida since 1988. Seymour ran the ball 24 times for 62 yards and 3 TD’s.

    Houston  7-1 at 21  UCF 6-1.

The winner of this game controls their own destiny to a BCS bowl game. Let’s start, 13-7 UCF and UCF hands  it off to William Stanback who breaks a tackle and takes it 38 yards for a touchdown, the 2-point conversion failed so it’s 19-7! But Houston scored a TD and then drove down the field again, 4th&goal for Houston, Cougars down 5 and Houston QB John O’Korn throws to the endzone and Kent Brooks can’t catch it, UCF wins, 19-14. O’Korn was 24/46, with 231 yards, 2 interceptions, a throwing TD and a running TD. UCF RB William Stanback had 9 carries for 74 yards and 2 scores.

Stanford QB Kevin Hogan has struggled recently however Cody Kessler has been playing his best football of the year so far, the Trojans catch the Cardinal at the right time. However this game will come down to the battle in the trenches, if USC can win the war up front they will win the game. And it’s at home for USC.picture by bleacherreport.com

Auburn has the best running attack in the SEC. They have one of the best special teams units ever. However the Georgia bulldogs just have that feeling. The Dawgs biggest threat this season has been injuries. Injuries cost this teams chances at a SEC East title. But as Lee Corso would say: NOT SO FAST MY FRIEND! Auburn has 4 rushers with 500+ yards this season, Georgia? 1! The AUburn backup quarterback has a better quarter back rating then Georgia’s starter! And to add to that Auburns at home. Georgia’s streak of 76 unanswered points against Auburn dating back to 2011 will end on Sturday and so will Georgia’s already tiny chance of making it to Atlanta.

Texas hasn’t lost a game for exactly 2 months (as of when I am writing this) and their two losses are to good opponents, however Texas wasn’t happy with the start and they fired the defensive cordinator, since then the Longhorns have gone 6-0 including wins over Oklahoma and the team that Oklahoma State lost to, West Virginia, and yes i know just because B beats C and A beats B does not mean that A will beat C (In this case A=Texas,B=West Virginia, and C=Oklahoma State) But look at it this way, Oklahoma State QB Clint Chelf has really been struggling right now, it’s at Texas (note i’ve picked the home team in each of the 2 other games) and texas is hot. I’ve got the longhorns pulling this one out.
