Craig Smith scored his first two playoff goals of his career and added an assist in a 6-2 blowout win for the Predators over the Blackhawks, it was Nashville’s first win since March 28th and tied the playoff series at 1-1.

“It feels great. Winning is a lot of fun, and at this point of the season, it’s a high stakes and it’s a big game and we come out like that,”Nashville goalie Rinne said. “It’s fun to play at home. Obviously, second game at home and big, big, big tying game for us.”

Rhine made 24 saves and an assist in the win. Filip Forsberg had a goal and an assist, and Colin Wilson, Roman Josi and Mike Santorelli each made a goal. Penguins 1-2 Rangers

The Rangers scored a goal 28 seconds in via Derick Brassard and Ryan McDonagh scored later in the period to give the Rangers a 2-0 lead that they used to take game one in the series 2-1. Game 2 is Saturday night in New York.

“We put a couple goals there in the first period, and got the crowd and momentum on our side,” the Rangers captain said.”You get the nerves out, you get the hits and the bumps going. I thought guys were real good with the puck today for the majority of the game.”

The Rangers defense locked down star Sidney Crosby all game and goalie Lundqvist had 24 saves.

“Their best defense was puck possession,” Crosby said, “and holding onto it in our end. You have to get pucks behind them and really work their D.”

Rangers, the President’s cup winners this year also won the Stanley cup last time they won the trophy (1993).

    Spurs 103 @ Pelicans 108

Before the game Anthony Davis told the media this game didn’t mean much, didn’t matter more than the other games but after the win, and the playoff berth that came with it he admitted to it meaning so much more.

Honestly, I know I all told ya’ll before this game it didn’t mean nothing, but I tried to downplay it because I didn’t want to get too excited,” Davis said. “It meant a lot — and we played like it meant something. We played our hearts out.”

Davis had 31 points and 13 rebounds in what was widely considered the biggest game of “the brows” career with a playoff berth on the line. It was New Orleans’ first playoff berth since 2011 and first under the Pelicans name.

The loss ended the Spurs 11 game winning streak and cost them the 2 seed and a division title.

“It’s been a crazy season, crazy West,” Tony Parker said. “We had a good opportunity, winning 11 games in a row and in second place”

Tyreke Evans had a 19 point double-double and Eric Gordon had 14 points.

    Wizards 95 @ Pacers 99 (2OT)

Indiana survived the Wizards 99-95 last night, but it took everything they had. Now all they need is to go to Memphis and beat the Grizzlies, no easy task. CJ Miles scored 25 points and George Hill added 24 more in the double overtime win that kept their playoff hopes alive.

“Just all-out heart, and determination, and will, and perseverance, and not quitting,” coach Frank Vogel said. “We got down so many times and had so many opportunities to give in. They just persevered through it.” (quote via espn.go.com)

The Pacers, who improved to 38-43 with the win will need a win at the Grizzlies to secure the 8th and last seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs. After a 3 and a half hour game the question remains, do the Pacers have enough left in the tank to get it done? We will find out tomorrow.

Interesting fact the pacers went 2-9 before winning their last 6 games.

“Just all-out heart, and determination, and will, and perseverance, and not quitting,” coach Frank Vogel said. “We got down so many times and had so many opportunities to give in. They just persevered through it.” (quote via espn.go.com)

    Trail Blazers 90 @ Thunder 101

Russell Westbrook wasn’t even supposed to be in this game. Westbrook picked up his 16th technical foul the night before which should have suspended him but the league reversed the call, allowing Westbrook to play and boy did he make the must of that opportunity, to the tune of 36 points 11 rebounds and 7 assists, carrying the Thunder to a 101-90 victory.

“I was worried once I got it during the game, but at the same time, the NBA does a great job of figuring out which tech is doable and which ones get rescinded, and I’m just happy mine got rescinded,” Westbrook said. (quote via espn.go.com)

Ernes Canter added on 27 points and 13 rebounds for Oklahoma City. Because New Orleans won against the Timberwolves if the Thunder lost it would have eliminated them from playoff contention. The Thunder need to win against Minnesota and San Antonio to beat the Pelicans, in any other possibe scenario the Pelicans will advance.

“We put ourselves in this position,” Westbrook said. “But at the same time, we’ve just got to go out and take care of our business and see what happens.” (quote via espn.go.com)

Portland has already secured the 4 seed in the playoffs even without star LaMarcus Aldridge for the past few games due to injury. On a completely random note Westbrook holds a .51 PPG lead on James Harden for the scoring title.
