Tiger Woods will miss the US Open

Tiger Woods will miss his second straight major because of back surgery as he announced yesterday. “Unfortunately, I won’t be there because I’m not yet physically able to play competitive golf,” said Woods, who will miss his sixth major due to injury as a professional. “I’d like to convey my regrets to the USGA leadership, the volunteers and the fans that I won’t be at Pinehurst.–The U.S. Open is very important to me and I know it’s going to be a great week. Despite missing the first two majors, and several other important tournaments, I remain very optimistic about this year and my future.”

    FUN FACTS

    • Tiger hasn’t golfed since March 9th
    • Woods hasn’t won a major since the 2008 US Open.

  • TIGER OUT OF MASTERS!

    TIGER OUT OF MASTERS!

Tiger Woods, the worlds most talked about golfer has finally chosen to do the right thing,  sit out the Masters. He is doing this so that he can surgery on a pinched nerve in his back. You saw him shoot a 78 in the final round at Doral, he just wasn’t the same. After a career of fighting through injurys (Stress fractures and reconstructive knee surgery in 2008. Neck injury in 2010. The Achilles injury in 2011. The elbow injury in 2013. And back spasms in 2013 and 2014.) He finally has decided that instead of risking his career in 2014, he wants to still be playing in 2024.

  • Talk of The Town: May 13 The Players Championship Day 4

coming into the final day at the players championship the top of the standings looked like this
    T1 David Lengmerth -11
    T1 Sergio Garcia -11
    T1 Tiger Woods -11
    T4 Casey Wittenberg-10
    T4 Ryan Palmer -10
    T4 Henrik Stenson -10

    well, lets get this started.
NOTE: Please excuse my bad golfing language I’ve never written a golf article before.
highlights: Tiger on 13 with a 3-shot lead but… plunk! He hits the ball into the water hazard and settles for a double-bogey. Then on Par 5 16th hole Tiger’s 3rd shot, a chip shot from the bunker and he gets onto the green within a yard of the hole he would birdie up 1. Then on the dreaded 17th hole: The water island hole Tiger lands it onto the green. Garcia on 16 for the eagle.. NO but sinks the birdie so Garcia and Tiger tied. Back to Tiger on 17 and he sinks the putt for Par on 17 so they stay even. Then Garcia on 17… misses the island and the ball lands in the water hazard. So Garcia trying again his 3rd shot obviously he gets it on the island but it takes a bad hop into the water. Garcia ends up with a quadruple bogey he’s out of the race. Now that other guy that was tied with Tiger David Lengmerth he’s one stroke behind now, but going for the birdie on 17 to tie Tiger… but he misses the easy putt settles for par. Now Tiger on 18 one up from Lengmerth going for birdie… NO! He does par the hole. Now Lengmerth the loooooong birdie putt on 18 to send it to a playoff… misses the hole by *that* much and TIGER WOODS WINS THE PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP.
