Netherlands advanced to the semifinals of the World Cup after Tim Krul, a substitute goalkeeper made 2 saves in the penalty shootout. Netherlands manager Louis van Gaal brought Krul in after it was scoreless in 120 minutes of play and boy did it pay off. Krul blocked Bryan Ruiz and Michael Umana’s PK’s and the Dutch made all 4 penalty’s to and secure the win set up a date with Argentina, with the winner advancing to the World Cup finals.
