Jets1-0 at Patriots1-0

Let’s start, early 1st, no score and Pats ball, QB Tom Brady goes playaction and then finds Aaron Dobson who takes it to the house and the Patriots are up 7! 13-3 Pats now but Jets ball and Jets runningback Bilal Powell runs it in for the Jets and the lead is down to 3! 4th quarter Geno Smith and the Jets driving and Geno Smith is intercepted by Aqib Talib! Pats win, 13-10!

TALK OF THE TOWN 9/9

49ers at Packers

Let’s start 7-7 and 49ers ball and Collin Kaepernick finds Anquan Boldin over the middle for a 9er touchdown and San Fran is up 7 points. 24-21 9ers now and Packers QB Aaron Rodgers goes deep to Jordy Nelson who makes a great catch and stays in bounds and it is a gain of 37 yards! Then, Green Bay on the San Fran 2 and GB running back Eddie Lacy jumps over the pile into the endzone and the pack are up 28-24! Ensuing 49ers drive, Kaepernick throws deeep to Anquan Boldin! Boldin catches it and runs and is finnally tackled  after a gain of 43! And that sets up Frank Gore running it in for the 9ers and San Fran is up 31-28! Next SF drive, still 31-28 and Kaepernick finds Boldin again and the 9ers go on to win 34-28.

Giants at Cowboys

1st play from scrimmage Eli Manning, screen pass and its intercepted by DeMarcus Ware! 3-0 Cowboys now, but Giants driving, handoff to David Wilson and Wilson fumbles it! Cowboys recover. Still 1st quarter and Eli is intercepted by the Cowboys! Cowboys ball now, Romo throwing and he’s intercepted by Ryan Mundey who returns it all  the way to the Cowboys 1! 13-10 Cowboys now,Giants runningback David Wilson fumbles, picked up by the cowboys’ Barry Church and returned to the house Cowboys up 20-10 and then Tony Romo goes overthemiddle and finds TE Jason Witten for a touchdown and it’s 27-10 Cowboys. 30-17 Cowboys now but Giants QB Eli Manning finds Victor Cruz for a TD and that cuts the lead to 30-24. Later in the 4th, still 30-24 and Mannning is intercepted, it’s returned all the way for a Cowboys TD and the Cowboys win 36-31! The Giants had 6 turnovers!

TALK OF THE TOWN 9/10

Eagles at Redskins

1st offensive play for the ‘skins and runningback Alferd Morris fumbles the ball, recovered by the Eagles! 4th offensive play for the ‘skins and RG3 throws into triple coverage and it’s intercepted by the Eagles! 6th offensive play for the ‘skins and RG3 throws a bad pitch, Alferd fumbles and it’s a saftey! Let’s see the Eagles on offense now, 10th offensive play for the Eagles and Micheal Vick throws a pass behind the line of scrimmage, thats technically a fumble, Redskins defender DeAngelo Hall scoops and scores and that is a Redskins touchdown! Later in the 1st Eagles QB Micheal Vick finds LeSean McCoy over the middle for an eagles TD! 2nd quarter, 12-7 Eagles now and Vick finds Brent Celek for an Eagles TD and Philly is up 19-7! Later in the second, Micheal Vick calls his own number and runs it in for another Eagles touchdown. 3rd quarter now, RG3 drops back, throws for Garcon but he is intercepted by Cary Williams of the Eagles! Then LeSean McCoy breaks off a for a huge run, that’s a TD and it’s 33-7 Eagles! But the Redskins come roaring back! 33-14 Eagles now, RG3 finds Leonard Hankerson for the touchdown and the 2-point conversion is missed so it’s only 33-20! Still 33-20 and Griffin finds Hankerdon again and the lead is down to 33-27! So Washington has to go for the onside kick, little time left in the game and the ball is fumbled by the Eagles! but the Eagles get it back and the Philidalphia Eagles win 33-27! Eagles QB Micheal Vick was 15-25, 203 yards, 2 TD’s and a rushing TD. Eagles Runningback LeSean McCoy had 31 Rush, 184 yards, TD. WR DeSean Jackson had 7 receptions, 104 yards and a TD. Eagles TE, Brent Celek had 2 Rec, 56 yards and a touchdown. Onto the ‘skins. QB Robert Griffin III threw 30-49, 329 yards, 2 TD’s,and 2 interceptions, not bad for a guy coming off knee surgery! Runningback Alfred Morris had 12 carries for 45 yards and a touchdown. Wide Reciever Leonard Hankerson had 8 touches for 80 yards and 2 scores. Finally, Corner back DeAngelo Hall had a Fumble returned for a TD.

LET’S GET THE SEASON! RAVENS AT BRONCOS STARTS NOW…oh hold up we are postponing it 6:50 MDT (8:50 EDT), the postponing went until 7:13 MDT (or 9:13 EDT) and the game finally kicked off but let’s skip ahead to the 2nd quarter, 7-0 Baltimore and Bronco’s QB Peyton Manning fires over the middle to Julius Thomas and he will walk into the endzone and we are tied at 7! 3rd quarter, Denver ball, 21-17 Broncos and Peyton Manning finds the former Patriot Wes Welker for the TD and The Broncos are pulling away! Late 4th quarter, 42-27 Broncs, Denver ball and Manning…to JULIUS THOMAS! Thomas weaves through defenders and finds the endzone for a 78 yard TD hook-up, Peyton Manning had 7 TD passes on the day, that ties an NFL record.

Bills at Redskins

I was present at this game, celebrating 1 year and 500 posts! Highlights will be added to this post later in the day.

Anyway, let’s start 1st quarter, no score, Redskins knocking on the door and Redskins 3rd stringer Rex Grossman fires over the middle to Pierre Garcon and that puts the skins up 7-0 (pending the extra point). Bills turn now, 7-zip  ‘skins still and Kevin Kolb hands it off to CJ Spiller for the Bills and Spiller is going to run that in for a two yard TD, that would tie the game at 7. However, Spiller goes down on the play, holding his right knee it turns out another players spike of the cleat cut him in the knee, Spiller would return. 7-7 still and Redskins QB Rex Grossman goes deep to Santana Moss, Moss makes a great catch and that’s a 45-yard gain! 2nd quarter now, 10-7 ‘skins and Bills 3rd string QB Jeff Tuel finds Steve Johnson over the midle but Johnson gets crushed by Bryan Kehl and Johnson fumbles, recovered by the ‘skins and Washington takes over. Same score and Pat White, the ‘skins 4th string QB scrambles to the left and takes to the house for a 14 yard YD, skins up 17-7!  3rd quarter, 20-7 ‘skins now, skins punting and the Bills returner Nickell Robey muffs the catch, Redskins linebacker Vic So’oto recovers and the Washington Redskins are going to have the ball at the Bills  5. 4th quarter, 23-7 ‘skins and Pat White hands it off to Keiland Williams who is going to take it for a 1 yard gain into the endzone that made it 30-7, that would be your final!

Let’s start early 1st quarter,0-0, Pats ball andTom Brady throws over the middle to Zach Sudfeld f0r 20 yards but then Glover Quin crushes Sudfeld, Sudfeld fumbles, Lions recover and the Detroit Lions have the ball! Early 2nd quarter, 3-0 Lions and Matthew Stafford hits Tony Scheffler over the middle for a Lions TD and pending the extra point it is a 10-0 game! 4th quarter, 26-3 Lions and Kellen Moore finds Micheal Spurlock in the endzone for a touchdown and the Lions are up 33-3 now! The Lions would go on to win 40-9! Both teams are now 2-1 in the preseason.

Steelers at Redskins

LeVeon Bell making his Steelers preseason debut and on the first play from scrimmage the rookie out of Michigan State runs to the left for a pickup of 4. 3 plays later Bell goes up the middle and is stopped after a 1 yard gain, but he was injured on the play, he would leave the game with a mid-foot-sprain. Later in the first Pittsburgh’s Ben Roethlisberger is sacked by Kedric Golston and Barry Cofield for a loss of 6. Then next play Roethlisberger expecting to dump it off but is intercepted by Ryan Kerrigan who is going to take all the way back for a TD and the skins are up 7-0! Late 1st quarter, Roethlisberger scrambles up the middle and gets drilled by London Fletcher, Ben was not injured on the play. Let’s go back to earlier in the 1st quarter, 1st offensive play for the ‘skins and RG3’s backup Kirk Cousins finds Leonard Hankerson over the middle for a 16 yard gain! Redskins 1st down! Early 2nd quarter now,7-3 ‘skins and Cousins takes off and then slides for a gain of 7. A minute later, play action for the ‘skins and Cousins keeps it for himself and runs for a 7 yard gain and a Washington first down. Cousins goes down on the play he would not return, X-Rays were negative and Cousins has a sprained foot and the severity is not yet clear. Then, 1st and goal the Redskins 3rd string QB Rex Grossman is in, he is the only 3rd-string QB to have started a super bowl. He drops back and finds Leonard Hankerson who makes a 1-handed catch in the endzone and the ‘skins are up 14-3! The ‘skins would go on to win 24-13.
