  • TALK OF THE TOWN 1/2 NEW YEARS DAY BOWL RECAPS

    ROSE BOWL GAME PRESENTED BY VIZIO

    5 Stanford 11-2 vs 4 Michigan State 12-1 (PASADENA)

    Let’s start no score and Stanford’s Tyler Gaffney between the tackles, breaks a few tackles, spins out of another and takes it all the way for a TD and Stanford goes up 7. They tacked on a field goal so it’s 10-0 Stanford. Then Jeremy Langford takes it around the left side and barley stays in bounds as he scores a TD for the Spartans and the lead is down to 3! But Late in the first half and Connor Cook is intercepted by Stanford’s Kevin Anderson and Anderson takes it 40 yards untouched for a TD! And the Stanford lead is at 10! Then 30 seconds left in the first half and Connor Cook scrambles to his right and fires to the endzone…TOUCHDOWN! The lead is back down 3! And then, 3rd quarter and Cook throws deep to Bennie  Fowler who stiffs arms a defender all the way 60 yards to the Stanford 15. They would kick a field goal to tie the game at 17! 3rd and long for Stanford now and Kevin Hogan throws deep to Devon Cajuste all the way, 51 yards into MSU territory! Stanford would turn it over on downs so MSU ball and Connor Cook throws over the middle and finds Tony Lippet for a 25 yard TD! 24-20 MSU now, 1 minute 46 seconds left in the game, 4th down for Stanford and they run it up the gut with Ryan Hewitt who is stuffed! MSU wins 24-20!

    Let’s start no score and UCF hands it off to Storm Johnson who breaks a tackle and takes it for a TD! Then they’re gonna hand it off to Storm again and he plows through for a score and we have a upset on our hands! But Baylor QB Bryce Petty’s like…yeah…NO! He trucks his way for a 1 yard score! The lead is down to 7! Then Petty throws over the middle and finds Levi Norwood who breaks a tackle and scores, the 2-point attempt was no good so it is 14-13 UCF in the lead. Then Blake throws a screen to UCF’s Rannell Hall who takes it 50 yards, virtually untouched for a touchdown! UCF up 8! But Bryce petty does a somersault  over a defender for a 13 yard running TD. Then Bortles throws a screen to Rannell and Rannell Hall takes it 30 yards, stumbling into the endzone and it is 28-20 UCF. Then Bryce throws over the middle to Jay Lee who takes it 50 yards all the way to the UCF 1. Bryce Petty would run it in for a TD and a 2-point conversion! We are tied at 28! Then Blake Bortles throws to the corner of the endzone and finds Breshad Perriman for a TD and UCF has retaken the lead! Then Bortles is gonna run and juke around everyone for a score and UCF is up 42-28! But Baylor won’t give up Glasco Martin runs a TD for the Bears and the lead is down to 7! But then Storm, oh Storm Johnson he breaks like 5 tackles and takes it 40 yards for a TD! UCF goes onto win 52-42!

    Let’s start 17-12 Nebraska and QB Tommy Armstrong Jr. throws deep, 99 yards for a touchdown (setting a bowl game record for Longest Pass, Longest TD Pass, Longest Play etc..) And it’s 24-12 Nebraska. But then UGA QB Hutson Mason throws to Todd Gurley who walks into the endzone, touchdown! 24-19 Nebraska. But 31 seconds left, 4th down for Georgia, they need to convert stay alive and Mason throws over the middle to Arthur Lynch who has the ball jarred free from him! Turnover on downs, Nebraska wins 24-19.

    24 Duke 10-3 vs 21 Texas A&M 8-4 (Atlanta)

    Let’s start, no score and Duke QB Anthony Boone throws a screen pass to Josh Snead and Snead is going to let his blocks set up and take it to the house! TD Duke! 7-3 Duke now and the Dukies line up in the wildcat formation, direct snap to Brandon Connette who takes it around the left side of the defense for a TD! 21-3 Duke now but  Johnny Football throws deep to Travis Labhart, touchdown Texas A&M! But Boone answers back! He chucks it deep and it is caught by Jamison Crowder  for a 50+ yard TD and Duke could be running away with it! TA&M scored a TD so the lead is down to 11, but NOT FOR LONG! says Josh Snead he takes it to the outside for the Devils and plows his way into the endzone for a score, Duke was up 38-17 at the break. But Johnny Manziel! Steps up in the pocket, hurdles a defender runs back, turns around and throws to a wide open Travis Labhart for a TD! But it wasn’t all Manziel, Tra Carson takes it to the left side, down the sideline all the way for a TD! And just like that the lead is down to a TD. Duke would tack on a field goal to increase the lead to 10. But then, oh holy Johnny Football, he is one of THE GREATEST college players i have EVER seen! Johnny takes it to the left side and the Duke defense shouldn’t even try! TD Texas A&M! But then Boone throws to David Reeves who tiptoes down the sideline, doing an amazing job keeping his feet in bounds for a score and the Duke lead is back up to 2 possessions. Then Johnny makes a perfect pass to Derel Walker, Touchdown Aggies! Then 2nd down for the Blue Devils and Boone is intercepted! By Toney Hurd JR.! Hurd takes it all the way 55 yards for a score! So Duke down 4 with a minute 30 seconds to go in the game and Boone is intercepted again! Texas A&M wins 52-48!
