MATT HUMMELS’ HEADER PROPELS GERMANY INTO SEMIS

Germany advanced to the World Cup semifinals for the 4th straight time with a 1-0 win over France on Friday in Rio De Janerio. France couldn’t answer after Matt Hummels buried a header over Hugo Llorisin  the 13th minute after he headed in Toni Kroos’ free kick . France, who was looking for payback for the Germans eliminating them from the 1982 and 1986 World Cup looked unimpressive for most of the game with only Mathieu Valbuena making threatening runs for Les Bleus. Germany will face host country Brazil in the semifinals on Tuesday.
