    Cardinals at Rams

Cardinal kicker Chandler Catanzaro kicked four field goals as the Cardinals defeated the Rams 12-6 on Thursday Night Football.”They were not near our quarterback,” Bruce Arians, coach of the Cardnils  said after the 12-6 victory  “Everybody talking all that stuff about how great their defense is, they saw a good defense tonight. It was in red and white.” The problem was, quarterback Drew Stanton was injured for Arizona, meaning they’ll be down to their third string quarterback the rest of the way.

    Cowboys at Eagles

DeMarco Murray had a couple of touchdowns, Dez Bryant caught three more and the Cowboys moved ahead of the Eagles in the NFC East race with a 38-27 win on Sunday Night.”Just came out poised. I was focused,” Bryant said. “We knew that this game was going to be big. We’re not really out trying to prove nothing to nobody. We’re trying to stay together, play together and understand from here on out it’s big games. We’ve got to stay together. We’ve got to block everybody else out. We can’t be in to all of that.”

    Saints at Bears

Drew Brees threw for 375 yards and three touchdowns and the Saints crushed the struggling Bears 31-15 to jump into first place in the NFC South. The Saints control their own destiny to get a playoff spot. New Orleans, who is currently 6-8 has the Falcons and the Buccs left on the docket. “I think we’ve shown a couple times we can handle adversity,” Brees said. “Let’s make sure we can handle success, too.”

Gronk was the first tight end to have 4 seasons with 10 or more touchdowns.”We worked very hard this week,” Patriots defensive tackle Vince Wilfork said. “Being in San Diego for a week gave us a chance to bond a little bit, watch extra film because we was at the hotel, and basically hung out and talked football. … A lot of times we talked about what it’s going to take to win a football game. Everybody prepared well. … The focus was unbelievable.”

    Falcons at Packers

First place in the NFC, up 24 at the half you might think that the Packers could ease off the gas a little, they did, and it almost cost them the game. After putting just seven on the board in the first half Atlanta put up 30 in the second frame but fell just short 43-37. “There’s been some ups and downs on both sides of the ball all season,” Rodgers said. “But we’re really getting this home-field advantage thing going, with the crowd noise, with the footing, with the way we’re playing, being really balanced on offense.” Rodgers admitted there might have been a “slight relaxation” at halftime up 24.

NFL RECAP WEEK 13 AND PLAYOFF SCENARIOS FOR WEEK 14

    SEAHAWKS AT 49ERS

Richard Sherman said one thing before he went out on the field. “I told their sideline if they threw it my way I’d end the game.” And he did exactly that. Sherman had the moment of the game, just like in the NFC championship game just 10 months ago when he knocked down the game-winning touchdown pass.In this game, with the game sealing interception while the fourty-niners were driving too give the Seahawks a 19-3 win. “The second one was pretty entertaining. I was laughing the whole time,” Sherman said. “They threw it. I said, ‘Way to be, way to be.’”

    PATRIOTS AT PACKERS

Aaron Rodgers threw for three-hundred and sixty-eight yards and two touchdown, Eddie Lacy had about a hundred on the ground as well as the Green Bay Packers defeated the New England Patriots 27-21. “We have some big goals, and we’re getting into December football now with a chance with everything right in front of us,” Rodgers said. In the first meeting between these two elite quarterbacks Rodgers prevailed as the New England offense didn’t seem to click all game. “I just wish we would have won this one. We put a lot into this one, and this was a great test for us. I think the guys knew how important this was for our season.” Brady Said.

    DOLPHINS AT JETS

The Miami Dolphins are making a push for the playoffs. You read that right. Caleb Sturgis had 3 field goals, Michael Vick threw an interception and Miami beat its archrivals 16-13. Jarvis Landry had 8 catches and Lamar Miller ran for the only Dolphin touchdown of the game. “We had to draw a line in the dirt. No more,” Dolphins defensive end Cameron Wake said  “We came out in the second half scheme-wise the same, but guys played the way they’re supposed to play.” On the other hand. “Can’t believe we’re 2-10,” Jets coach Rex Ryan said, shaking his head and pausing. “It’s a joke.”

  • NFL RECAP WEEK 12

    NFL RECAP WEEK 12

    CHIEFS AT RAIDERS

After over one year of losing, the Oakland Raiders finally had something to celebrate, the last time the Raiders won a game was November 17th… of 2013. Derek Carr threw for 174 yards and a touchdown and James Jones had 47 yards recieving as the Raiders defeated the Kansas City Cheifs 24-20″We learned something today,” interim coach Tony Sparano said. “We learned something about ourselves. We’ve been in this end of the pool a long time. I kept saying that eventually it’s going to happen. Today they just refused to give up.”

    LIONS AT PATRIOTS

Tom Brady threw for nearly 350 yards and 2 touchdowns as the Patriots blew out a very good Lions team 34-9.”Everyone is linked together,” quarterback Tom Brady said, “so we all feed off each other — offense, defense, special teams.” LeGarrette Blount ran for two touchdowns and had 78 yards on the ground the week after Jonas Gray, who didn’t even play this week made the cover of “Sports Illustrated” As for the Lions, they don’t know what happened. “We blew a lot of coverage,” Linebacker DeAndre Levy said. “They sped up the tempo a bit and I think we lost our composure.”

    PACKERS AT VIKINGS

Eddie Lacy ran for 125 yards and one touchdown as the Green Bay Packers edged the Minnesota Vikings, who were without their top two running backs (Adrian Peterson [Suspension] and Matt Asiata [Injury]) 24-21. Eddie Lacy had one of the best games of his young career and Aaron Rodgers struggled “He’s agile for a guy his size. He’s got a great spin move. He takes care of the football. He does all the things you want,” said Rodgers. “He doesn’t go down, man,” left guard Josh Sitton said. “It’s pretty fun to watch.”

    COWBOYS AT GIANTS

Odell Beckham Jr. made one of the best catches I’ve ever seen but it came in a losing effort because Tony Romo threw for 275 yards and 4 touchdowns as the Dallas Cowboys defeated the New York Giants. “You gain an understanding that you’re never really out of it,” Romo said. “You are comfortable being in uncomfortable situations. That comes from having been through it and going out and finding a way to win. Once you do that a few times, the team can believe in that. “Any time you’re afforded the amount of time at the end of the game, it’s huge, they (the offensive line) are a special group of guys who work their butts off and deserve a lot of credit for this game and this season.”

    JETS AT BILLS

Scott Chandler had a shoutout to all of Buffalo after he caught a touchdown pass on Monday. His snow shoveling touchdown celebration was a tribute to the people of Buffalo who were buried in seven feet of snow for the past week. “It was a little bit of a tribute to the people of Buffalo,” Chandler said. “You want to do something special for our fans. They did a great job showing up for us tonight, and for the people back there, we’re behind you.” The Bills beat the Jets 38-3 behind Kyle Orton’s 230 yards and 2 touchdowns.

  • NFL RECAP WEEK 11

    NFL RECAP WEEK 11

    Bills at Dolphins

Jarvis Landry had 5 catches for 46 yards and a touchdown, Brandon Gibson had 2 catches for 13 yards and a touchdown and Ryan Tannehill threw for 240 yards and 2 scores as the Dolphins beat the Bills 22-9.”To stay over the .500 mark, to win in the division and to beat the Bills, it’s a good night,” defensive tackle Jared Odrick said. Miami improved to 6-4, its best start since 2008. “You have to start playing good football this time of the year,” coach Joe Philbin said. The Bills dropped to 5-5 and their chances of making the playoffs for the first time in 14 years are looking bleak. “I’m tired of it, we’re all tired of it and we know the fans are tired of it,” safety Aaron Williams said. “It hurts.”

    Texans at Browns

JJ Watt had 5 tackles, a sack and was all over the field on defense. He also caught a 2-yard touchdown pass from first-time starter Ryan Mallet as the Texans beat the Browns 23-7. “He’s a special player,” Mike Pettine, the Browns coach said. “You run to him. You run away from him. You try to do different things. He’s an excellent player.” Mallet threw for 212 yards and another score in his first start with Houston. “It feels good,” said Mallett, a former third-round pick in 2011 who backed up Tom Brady in New England for 3 years. “It made the four years worth it.”

    Seahawks at Chiefs

Jamaal Charles rushed for 159 yards and 2 touchdowns but the defense was the star as the Chiefs defeated the Seahawks 24-20 to move them into a tie for first with the Denver Broncos. “We’re sitting there with three fourth-down plays late in the game,” Reid said, “and they stepped up and did a phenomenal job there getting off the field.” Charles played a huge role in the win, “He’s Jamaal Charles,” Reid said. “He’s a special player.”

    Broncos at Rams

Shaun Hill got the job of starting quarterback of the Rams, throwing for 220 yards and a touchdown in his return as the Rams defeated the Broncos 22-7. “Obviously, we were facing one of the best teams in the league,” Hill said after the Rams surprised Denver on Sunday. “Everybody stepped up, for sure.” Hill was out with a thigh injury for the past two weeks. “It’s a constant process to stay up, especially as a backup, it’s tough,” Hill said. “But it’s something you’ve got to do.”

    Patriots at Colts

Jonathon Gray RAN, not throw RAN for over 200 yards and 4 touchdowns as the Patriots defeated the Colts 42-20. “It’s kind of funny because on Saturday I walked into the building and Mr. [Robert] Kraft pulled me aside and said, ‘You’re going to have a big game this week, so be ready,’” said Gray, who played college football three hours away from Lucas Oil Stadium at Notre Dame. “Just hearing that from the owner and hearing that from the head coach, hearing that from the leader of the team, definitely gives you a positive outlook and definitely gives you the mindset to go out and do your best.” Tom Brady also threw for 250 yards and added a pair of scores.

    Steelers at Titans

Ben Roethlisberger threw for 207 yards and a touchdown and Le’Veon Bell ran for 204 yards and a score as the Steelers defeated the struggling Titans 27-24. “Just hearing that from the owner and hearing that from the head coach, hearing that from the leader of the team, definitely gives you a positive outlook and definitely gives you the mindset to go out and do your best.”

  • NFL RECAP WEEK 10

    NFL RECAP WEEK 10

    Browns at Bengals

At the beginning of the year anyone who expected the Browns to win in Cincinnati please raise your hand. The team that has lurked at the bottom of the AFC North for years and years moved into a tie to first place in the division. Andy Dalton threw for a grand total of 86 yards as the Browns won 24-3. “This is a little different Browns team than the rest of the league is used to seeing,” said Haden, who shut down AJ Green to give the Browns their best start in 20 years, they snapped the streak of 17 years without a division road win. “A huge boost for our guys,” coach Mike Pettine said. “Just look at the streaks we ended. Not many people gave us a chance.”

    49ers at Saints

Collin Kaepernick completed a 51 yard pass on 4th down to keep the 49ers game tying drive  alive, Ahmad Brooks stripped Drew Brees in overtime and Phil Dawson nailed a 35 yarder to win the game for San Francisco. “It was paramount for us to come out with a win,” San Francisco left tackle Joe Staley said. “You don’t like to say must-win, but it was a must-win game. We looked at that game as a playoff game, and we had that mindset coming in.” The Saints had won 11 games straight at home, a streak that had lasted over a year before the 49ers ended it on Sunday.

    Dolphins at Lions

For the the 3rd straight week the Lions came back from behind to win. But this was the most dramatic of the three. Matthew Stafford scrambled to his left and threw on the run, and the ball somehow found the hands of Theo Riddick. And the Lions defeated the Dolphins 20-16. “I just love that feeling. It’s a good feeling for a quarterback to have the ball in his hands at the end of the game,” Stafford said. “By no means are we playing perfect, but we’re finding ways to win games.”  And for the 2nd time this month the Dolphins lost in the last minute, they lost to the Packers with 3 seconds left a few weeks ago. “We weren’t thinking about the Packers game. We were thinking about this game. We didn’t win, so it didn’t go the way we wanted it to,” cornerback Brent Grimes said. “Matt Stafford, their receivers made plays. I take my hat off to them.”

    Bears at Packers

Aaron Rodgers threw 6 touchdowns in the first half and the Packers could basically do no wrong as they led 42-0 at the half and put in all of their backups and still cruised to a 55-14 victory on a cool night in Green Bay. “We just kind of got things going our way,” Rodgers said. “The line did a good job of giving me time to extend plays. If you extend plays, you look down the field and there’s Jordy Nelson. He made some nice catches.” Rodgers was 18 of 27 for 314 yards in his record-setting first half. The Bears got crushed for the 2nd straight week, last week thy got crushed by New England 51-23. “I’m confused, brother. I’m confused. … We’re just not very good right now,” receiver Brandon Marshall said. “It’s a shame to have to say that, but sitting at 3-6, it’s tough. It’s very, very, very disappointing.”

    Panthers at Eagles

Mark Sanchez threw for 332 yards, 2 touchdowns and no interceptions as the Eagles took down the Panthers on Monday Night Football, 45-21. The Panthers, who have just three wins compared to six losses and a tie didn’t look like the defending NFC South champions again, worrying signs for Carolina fans. “We’ve got to do things better,” Panthers coach Ron Rivera said. “I have to coach better, coaches have to coach better, we have to practice better and then go out and play better. And we’re going to do it together as a team.” Sanchez, one day before his birthday fit perfectly with Chip Kelly’s offense in his first start. “After playing for a while, you learn a lot,” he said. “I’ve made plenty of mistakes and hurt the team. The most important thing was taking care of the football, communicating well and executing. If we do that, generally we’ll be successful. There are still plenty of things to clean up though. By no means was this perfect.”

  • NFL RECAP WEEK 9

    NFL RECAP WEEK 9

    Saints at Panthers

Drew Brees threw for nearly 300 yards and a touchdown and Mark Ingram ran for another 100 yards and two scores as the Saints beat the Panthers 28-10 in the Superdome on Thursday Night Football. “The offensive line and tight end did a great job of hitting them, hitting them and hitting them,” Ingram said. “I think they started to wear down and we were able to get some leaky yards and some big gains.” The Panthers, defending NFC South champs are in trouble as of late with a record of 3 wins, 5 losses, and 1 tie. “We know we are better — simple as that,” Panthers quarterback Cam Newton said. “It’s nothing that someone has to say that hasn’t already been said. It’s a lot that hasn’t been done yet.”

    Cardinals at Cowboys

Tony Romo sat out as Carson Palmer threw for 250 yards and 3 touchdowns as the Cardinals improved to 7-1 and with a 28-17 win are the best team in the NFC for the first time since 1974. “This is a very good team,” said Palmer “We feel like we can play with anybody, and that’s important because we feel like we are improving.” Tony Romo will dress for next Sundays London game vs the Jaguars. “We’re optimistic,” Garrett said. “People with similar injuries have been on a little bit of a similar timetable where they missed the first game and they were getting close to being able to play in that second game.”

    Eagles at Texans

Mark Sanchez came in and threw for 200 yards and 2 touchdowns coming in for the injured Nick Foles as the Eagles beat the Houston Texans 31-21. “He’s good,” running back LeSean McCoy said. “Even when he came here it’s hard to look at him as a backup because of (the) success he’s had and experience. I think today wasn’t really something surprising to the team.  I think we’ll do some damage if Nick can’t go, he’ll step in there and do a great job.” On his first throw he hit Jeremy Maclin with a 52 yard strike. “You want to get the first throw out of the way. And thanks to Chip we throw it right down the field,” Sanchez said. “So that will get your nerves gone.”

    Broncos at Patriots

Tom Brady threw for 333 yards and 4 touchdowns as the Patriots overcame the Broncos 43-21. “He has always set a real high bar for how to play and I have tried to do the same through my efforts with my team,” said Brady, who owns three Super Bowl rings to one for Manning. “The only thing I really care about is the respect from my team, going out there and trying to earn it. ”  “Well, I don’t usually stink, but I stunk today,” said Manning, who threw for 438 yards but gave away the ball twice. “I don’t make any excuses. ” Julian Edelman also caught a touchdown and returned a punt for a score. “Minitron can do so many things, he’s so quick,” Brady said of Edelman. “What he did on the punt return was incredible.”

    Colts at Giants

Following an awful performance in Pittsburgh last week Andrew Luck threw for 354 yards and 4 touchdowns in a 40-24 victory for the Colts over the New York Giants. “It was great to get back in the win column after a tough one last week,” Luck said. New York never could get their running game going in the Monday Night Special.  The colts now avoid going into their bye week with a loss. “Reggie spoke to it last night,” Luck said. “He’s had only one or two, but he said losses before bye weeks stink.”

“We got that bad taste out of our mouths, the way we lost that last game,” coach Chuck Pagano said. “It’s awesome.”

    CHARGERS AT BRONCOS

Peyton Manning threw three touchdowns to Emmanuel Sanders as the Broncos bested the Chargers 35-21 on Thursday Night Football. “We understand in this offense, it can be anyone’s night at any moment,” said Sanders, who didn’t catch his first TD pass for Denver until Sunday night, when Manning set the career record. “I’m just happy tonight was my night.” Rookie Juwan Thompson added two more scores on the ground,Sanders caught a total of 9 passes for 120 yards. “I’m enjoying playing with him,” Manning said. “He’s got a great work ethic. He really loves football and he brings that energy to practice every day and also to the playing field. … He was pretty special tonight.”

    LIONS VS FALCONS (IN LONDON)

After coming back from down 21-0 to cut the lead to 21-19 Matt Prater had a chance to win the game with a 43 yard field goal and he missed it, the Falcons had survived… or had they?  The Lions were called for Delay of Game, giving Prater another chance from 48 yards out, and he nailed it. “I knew Prater was going to make it. I played two years with him before,” Lions cornerback Cassius Vaughn said. “When he missed the first one I was like, `That was just the practice swing.’ The second one was cake.” “I was just like, ‘Dang it,’ and then I started looking and going, ‘Oh, oh, OK,’” Lions receiver Jeremy Ross said. “I was just like waiting to see what happened. Is he getting another kick or what? When he made it, it was fire.”

    SEAHAWKS AT PANTHERS

Russell Wilson  tossed a 23 yard touchdown pass in the last minute of the game to Luke Wilson to comeback and beat the Panthers for the third straight year 13-9. “Man, I’m telling you, it’s just the Achilles’ heel, man,” Panthers cornerback Josh Norman said. “They keep nagging us. They end up making one more play than us, every single time.” Wilson threw for 199 yards and a touchdown in the win. “Sometimes with a team like this you get pressure,” Newton said. “Being pressured you have to be willing to take chances. When you make plays you know you’re labeled a genius. When you don’t (make plays) — and a lot of times we didn’t today — it looks bad. It looks real bad.”

    BEARS AT PATRIOTS

Tom Brady completed 30 of his 35 passes, and 4 of the 5 incompletions were drops. The future hall of famer threw for 354 yards and 5 touchdowns in a 51-23 beatdown of the Chicago Bears on Sunday. “I love coaching Tom. I’ve been fortunate to have him the whole career since he’s been here,” Patriots coach Bill Belichick said. “He does a great job of executing the team game plan.” Brady threw three touchdowns to Rob Gronkowski, 1 more to Brandon LaFell, and another to Tim Wright. “There’s a lot of (defensive) looks I’ve seen over the years,” he said, “so it’s hard to really surprise me with certain things.”

    COLTS AT STEELERS

The Steelers upset the Colts on Sunday 51-34 as Ben Roethlisberger set franchise records passing for 522 yards and 6 touchdowns. “We just felt like they couldn’t stop us because we were just clicking,” Roethlisberger said. “It was one of those nights that players talk about when things feel like they’re going right.” This game was Roethlisberger’s 100th win in the NFL. The Steelers wore their yellow-and-black striped jerseys borrowed from the 1934 team.Antonio Brown had 10 receptions for 133 yards and two scores. Heath Miller also caught seven passes for 112 yards and the game-clinching TD with 5:14 remaining.

Drew Brees completed 27 of 32 passes for 311 yards and three touchdowns as the Saints ended the Packers 4 game winning streak with a 44-23 win on Sunday Night. “It’s been a long time coming,” Brees said. “Obviously, we’ve had our fair share of struggles early on here. We’ve lost some heart-breakers. All we talked about all week long is just coming together as a team and playing a complete game as a team. … It was a perfect representation of that.” Aaron Rodgers threw two interceptions in the loss. “Just taking points off the board is tough. We had chances,” Rodgers said, lamenting three promising first half drives that ended in field goals. “We would have had to score 45 to win tonight and we could have if we had done a better job taking care of the football and scoring in the red zone with touchdowns.”

    REDSKINS AT COWBOYS

Colt McCoy, going into the season he was a 3rd string quarterback struggling to make a roster, now he lead the Redskins to a 20-17 overtime clutch win over the streaking Cowboys. “Last-second wins, right?” McCoy said, laughing. “But I grew up as the game went on. I felt more and more comfortable, and I started seeing the defense right. We made some plays down the stretch that good teams have to make to win games.” And for the second straight week Kai Forbath hit a game-winning field goal, a dagger from 40 yards out. Robert Griffin III is set to return next week and will start said head coach Jay Gruden. “Robert’s our starter,” coach Jay Gruden said. “I haven’t wavered off of that in my mind. When he’s ready, he’ll be ready to go.”

    SEAHAWKS AT RAMS

It took a fake punt pass and a trick punt return but when the clock hit triple zero former free agent Austin Davis and the Rams beat the defending Super Bowl champion Seahawks 28-26. “That’s pretty sweet,” Rams punter Hekker said of the pass to a wide-open Benny Cunningham that helped the Rams run out the clock and win on Sunday. “We’ve been practicing that play for a long time.” Hekker is a former high school quarterback. “It was great execution by them on a couple different scenarios,” Seahawks coach Pete Carroll. “It made a huge difference in this game. If they don’t catch that ball, it’s ours and we kick the field goal and it’s over. A very gutsy play.”

    GIANTS AT COWBOYS

Tony Romo has officially taken a back seat to DeMarco Murray, Romo completed 17 passes, Murray ran the ball 28 times. “I love that kid,” Romo said after the Cowboys gained their sixth straight victory, in a 31-21 over the New York Giants on Sunday. “He really exemplifies everything you want in a player. He’s hard-working. He’s humble. He’s a team-first guy. He’s talented. He’s explosive.” Murray is now the first runningback to start the season with 7 straight 100-yard games. “I think our record is above what we could have expected, but we have it and it’s a credit to a team that’s building in their confidence,” owner Jerry Jones said. “That wasn’t the same team that went to Seattle, that came home from Seattle, and I know this team, the Giants, had a lot to say, a lot to prove today.”

    49ERS AT BRONCOS

Records are meant to be broken. Peyton Manning threw his 507th, 508th, 509th, and 510th career touchdowns to break Brett Farves 508 TD record. “It’s special because of the way our team played,” said Manning, who got the record with an 8-yard strike to Demaryius Thomas late in the second quarter in a 42-17 win over the San Francisco 49ers. After the touchdown Thomas tossed it over Manning to Sanders who tossed it to Welker, back to Sanders and then to Thomas who finally gave the ball to Manning. “Those guys are all great athletes and my vertical leap isn’t what it used to be. I haven’t played keep-away since I was 8 years old,” Manning said. “That is something I will always remember.”

    TEXANS AT STEELERS

Ben Roethlisberger passed for two touchdowns and Antonio Brown added 1 more on a trick play during the span of 73-seconds that moved the Steelers from down 10 to an 11-point lead. “You stand on the sidelines long enough, you will see explosions such as that,” Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said. “It was good to be on the good side of it.””We had a terrible second quarter,” Houston coach Bill O’Brien said. “We couldn’t come back from it. Just too many turnovers. We just had a hard time overcoming all those things.”

    FALCONS AT GIANTS

Odell Beckham Jr. had 44 yards and the go-ahead touchdown in his NFL debut as the Giants beat the Falcons 30-20 on Sunday. “To be out this long and to have to deal with the adversity I have had, I just I have to thank God for giving me the opportunity to play and for allowing me to score in my first game,” Beckham said after scoring. “It’s just great to get that off your chest.” Fellow rookie Andre Williams, a runningback out of Boston College also scored a touchdown and ran 65 yards for the G-Men as they improved to 3-2 on the young season.

    TEXANS AT COWBOYS

Dez Bryant came up big, well big doesn’t describe it, Bryant came up HUGE against the Houston Texans in overtime making an incredible catch over his defender to set up Dan Bailey’s game winning field goal from 49 yards out. Bryant had 9 catches for eighty-five yards and a touchdown as the Cowboys blew a 10-point lead but still managed to win. “We had to go down and basically win the game twice,” said Tony Romo who threw for 324 yards with 2 touchdowns and a interception. “You just put your work hat on and go out and execute.”

    CARDINALS AT BRONCOS

Peyton Manning and the Broncos handed the Cardinals their first loss of the season on Sunday in a 41-20 drubbing of Arizona. Manning threw for 479 yards and 4 touchdowns, the first of which was his 500th in his career the only other quarterback to have over 500 touchdown passes? The legendary Brett Farve.  The milestone win was slightly overshadowed by a dirty chop block from Julius Thomas. “I’ve been coaching for 37 years, it’s the dirtiest play I’ve seen,” Arians fumed. “It was a flat chop block and put him out of the game. I know John Fox, great coach and great guy. Somebody has got to answer to that. A fine isn’t going to do it, when he’s going to miss three or four weeks, on a blatant chop block.”

     BENGALS AT PATRIOTS

Just six days after being obliterated by the Chiefs 41-14, Tom Brady and the Patriots silenced the doubters with a dominating win of their own in primetime over the last remaining undefeated. A 43-17 win over a Bengals team that many thought was the best team in the league. “It’s hard to be oblivious to things. We all have TVs or the internet or the questions I get and the emails that I get from people,” Brady said after throwing for two touchdowns and no interceptions  and breaking the 5,000 yard mark for his career. “Nobody died or anything. It’s just a loss, and I think we’ve always done a great job putting losses behind us quickly.”

    SEAHAWKS AT REDSKINS

In 2012 the Seahawks and the Redskins had a battle in a matchup with two exciting young quarterbacks. Their paths have changed since, the Seahawks are Super Bowl Champions, and the Redskins got embarrassed in primetime for the second straight week in a 27-17 Seattle win in a game that was not as close as the score indicates.
