#5Louisville (9-1) @ Houston (8-2) – 8PM ET, ESPN (Thursday)

Spread: Louisville -13

This game isn’t the potential playoff play-in game that some speculated it would be back in September, but it still matters a lot. This is the last chance Louisville has to impress the committee before selection day, and assuming Louisville doesn’t lose next week at home against 5-5 Kentucky, a win here essentially locks up the Heisman race for Lamar Jackson. This game isn’t as huge for Houston, who went from playoff contender to now essentially out of the race for their own division title after losses to Navy and SMU, but a win here would put the Cougars, and Tom Herman back in the spotlight. Greg Ward Jr. has been a fantastic quarterback all year, and on his back, the Cougars will probably stay in this game… for about three quarters. Sure, Houston will make this a fight, the underrated Louisville defense will do enough to slow down Ward, and eventually Lamar Jackson and the Cards will pull out a win in what should be a fun, exciting game.

The Pick: Louisville 41, Houston 30

#23Florida (7-2) @ #16LSU (6-3) – 1PM ET, SEC Network

Spread: LSU -13.5

This game was rescheduled due to the Hurricane, it was originally to be played in Gainesville, but LSU wouldn’t budge on rescheduling the game unless Florida agreed to let the game be played in Baton Rouge. The Tigers have been great since Ed Orgeron took over, breathing new life into an LSU offense that was getting stale under Les Miles. While the Tigers lost to Alabama, they played the Tide closer than any team this year has, and held Alabama to just 10 points. On the other hand, Florida has had an up and down year, they lost their win streak over Florida early on the year, they rebounded a few weeks ago when they beat Georgia, but the next week they choked, losing against Arkansas. A win here for Florida secures them a spot in the SEC Championship against Alabama, but I don’t think that will happen. Florda is banged up all along the defense, and those injuries will cost them this game, and a spot in the SEC Championship.

The Pick: LSU 28. Florida 17

#22Washington State (8-2) @ #10Colorado (8-2) – 3:30PM ET, FOX

Spread: Colorado -5

If you told me before the season that one week before the conference title matchups or finalized Washington State and Colorado both controlled their own destinies to the Pac-12 title, I would have called you crazy. Before the season I had Washington State 4th in the Pac-12 North, and I had Colorado dead last in the South, as did Phil Steele, Athlon, Sporting News, heck maybe even Colorado and Wazzu fans, yet here we are. Colorado is a top 10 team, and if it wasn’t for a fluke game against Eastern Washington so would Washington State. This is a big game for each of these teams, but a loss here for Colorado would put the Buffs out of first in the Pac-12 South, Washington State still controls its own destiny even with a loss, and for that reason, I’ve got to take the home team with more to play for, Colorado.

The Pick: Colorado 38, Washington State 34

#9Oklahoma (8-2) @ #14West Virginia (8-1) – 8PM ET, ABC

Spread: Oklahoma-3.5

In the top game of the week we have two of the top three teams inn the Big 12 going head to head as Oklahoma travels to Morgantown to face West Virginia. The Mountaineers have been disrespected by the committee for the past few weeks because they don’t have any top 25 wins, and finally they have a chance at one. West Virginia has one of the best defenses in the Big 12, but the Oklahoma offense ranks third in the nation. QB Baker Mayfield has been fantastic, and  Dede Westbrook is probably the best receiver in the country. Now don’t get me wrong, Skyler Howard and West Virginia will start off strong, but in the end, I think Oklahoma can weather West Virginia’s pass rush and put up just enough points to outscore the Mountaineers en route to a win, and set up this years Bedlam game as a de facto  Big 12 championship.

The Pick: Oklahoma 40, West Virginia 35
