WHO WAS VOTED NEXT MLB COMMISSIONER?
Rob Manfred was elected as MLB’s commissioner winning a three-headed competition to succeed Bud Selig. The Chief Operating Officer, will succeed Selig, 80 in January 25th. Manfred beat out Boston Red Sox chairman Tom Werner and MLB executive vice president of business Tim Brosnan in the first election in 46 years. “I am tremendously honored by the confidence that the owners showed in me today,” Manfred said. “I have very big shoes to fill.” White Sox owner Jerry Reinsdorf said in a statement. “Today’s decision was reached by 30 owners voting separately but speaking, in the end, with one voice.”
