NFL RECAP WEEK 14 AND SCENARIOS FOR WEEK 15
Cowboys at Bears
DeMarco Murray had 179 yards on the ground, Tony Romo tossed for three touchdowns and the Cowboys defeated the Bears 41-28. With the win the Cowboys clinched their first winning season since 2009. “Other than the fact we still have all our goals in front of us,” Romo said when asked about clearing the eight-win mark. “I think that that’s more for you guys to do your 8-8 stuff.” The Cowboys lead 14-7 at the half and than scored 21 unanswered points to secure the victory.
Patriots at Chargers
Rob Gronkowski broke a record, Tom Brady threw for over 300 yards, nearly half of which were to Julian Edelman who caught 8 passes, all in all it was a pretty good day for Patriots, oh and they beat the Chargers 24-13. Gronk was the first tight end to have 4 seasons with 10 or more touchdowns.”We worked very hard this week,” Patriots defensive tackle Vince Wilfork said. “Being in San Diego for a week gave us a chance to bond a little bit, watch extra film because we was at the hotel, and basically hung out and talked football. … A lot of times we talked about what it’s going to take to win a football game. Everybody prepared well. … The focus was unbelievable.”
Falcons at Packers
First place in the NFC, up 24 at the half you might think that the Packers could ease off the gas a little, they did, and it almost cost them the game. After putting just seven on the board in the first half Atlanta put up 30 in the second frame but fell just short 43-37. “There’s been some ups and downs on both sides of the ball all season,” Rodgers said. “But we’re really getting this home-field advantage thing going, with the crowd noise, with the footing, with the way we’re playing, being really balanced on offense.” Rodgers admitted there might have been a “slight relaxation” at halftime up 24.
