COLLEGE FOOTBALL PICKS WEEK 10

Welcome back College Football, I missed you. I am so excited for this season to start. Last year I took on Phil Steele’s College Football Picks challenge, and defeated arguably the greatest mind of College Football Analysts with a 116-34 record compared to Steele’s 111-39. This year I will take on the challenge again. Last week recap: It’s all tied up.
Me: 72-18 (80%)
Phil Steele: 72-18 (80%)
Duke Blue Devils at
North Carolina Tar Heels
Noon ET, ESPN2
Last week’s game against Miami was poorly officiated to say the least. But a lot of questionable calls went in Duke’s way throughout the game, so overall I think Miami (The same Miami team that lost 58-0) beat Duke. On the other hand a win over Duke will probably put the Tar Heels in their first ever College Football Playoff Top 25. I’ve got the Tar Heels by 7
The Pick: North Carolina
No. 5
Notre Dame Fighting Irish at
Pittsburgh Panthers
Noon ET, ABC
Last week Temple gave Notre Dame a big fight, can Pittsburgh (6-2, losses to North Carolina and #10 Iowa) finish the job? I don’t think so. Pittsburgh will keep it close for awhile but in the end, the Panther’s poor offense will come back to bite them. Notre Dame defeats the Pittsburgh Panthers by 10
The Pick: Notre Dame
No. 2
LSU Tigers at No. 4
Alabama Crimson Tide
8 PM ET, CBS
These two teams are really evenly matched, both teams come into this one with a superb running back and a great defense. Preseason I picked these teams as 1 and 2 in the SEC (despite the media picking Auburn to win) and this game will decide which one is 1 and which one is 2. I’m going to give this one to the home team, Bama by 3.
The Pick: Alabama
Auburn Tigers at No. 19
Texas A&M Aggies
7:30 ET, SEC
From possibly winning the SEC, to being 4-4, struggling to get in a bowl. How far the mighty have fallen. Auburn’s offense has been improving, but Texas A&M is better. I’ve got the Aggies, who are led by quarterback Kyler Murray (223 Passing, 156 Rushing last week). Texas A&M by 13
The Pick: Texas A&M
No. 8
TCU Horned Frogs vs. No. 14
Oklahoma State Cowboys
3:30 PM ET, FOX
Honestly, I think both of these teams are not as good as that 0 in the loss column indicates. But for now, this should be an exciting game to watch, with shades of last year’s TCU-Baylor game (Which I ranked as the #1 game of the year in my: “Top 9 College Football Games of 2014-15” series) This should be a wild one, with both teams in the 40’s or maybe even higher, despite these being the the 2 best defense’s in the Big 12. I have TCU by a touchdown.
The Pick: TCU
Penn State Nittany Lions at No. 21
Northwestern Wildcats
Noon ET, ESPNU
I was very surprised when the selection committee In the Top 25, let alone at 21. The Wildcats are 6-2, but 1-2 in games vs the Top 25, with the losses by 38 and 30. With that said, I don’t see an upset here, Penn State is 0-2 vs the FPI Top 50 (N’Western is 3-2) Northwestern by 6.
The Pick: Northwestern
Minnesota Golden Gophers at No. 3
Ohio State Buckeyes
8 PM ET, ABC
Last week Minnesota was *this* close to beating Michigan, on the other side of the coin Ohio State is out to prove that their #3 ranking isn’t just because of last year, the Buckeyes already hold wins over Virginia Tech and Penn State, but in 2/3 weeks they will really test themselves, with Michigan AND Michigan State. Buckeyes by 17
The Pick: Ohio State
Iowa State Cyclones at No. 15
Oklahoma Sooners
7 PM ET, ESPNU
Iowa State has had plenty of chances to surprise us, but have failed already losing to Iowa, Texas Tech, Baylor, and TCU by an average of 23 points. Things won’t get any easier for the Cyclones with Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and West Virginia still remaining. Oh, almost forgot, Oklahoma by 28
The Pick: Oklahoma
Vanderbilt Commodores at No. 10
Florida Gators
Noon ET, ESPN
So lets try this…
Florida Vanderbilt
Beat Ole Miss by 28 Lost to Ole Miss by 11
Beat Georgia by 24 Lost to Georgia by 17
The Pick: Florida (by 31)
No. 16
Florida State Seminoles at No. 1
Clemson Tigers
3:30 PM ET, ABC
An ACC team is #1 in the Selection Committee Rankings. WOW. Clemson has been extraordinary on both sides of the ball, but Florida State will be their toughest test since Notre Dame. Thankfully this game (as well as ND) is at home, I’ve got the Tigers by 10.
The Pick: Clemson
