NFL OWNERS MEETING PREVIEW

THERE WILL BE 3 MAIN TOPICS AT THE OWNERS MEETING

RULE CHANGES

2015 Owners Meeting Rule Discussions
Team Idea
Lions All penalties reviewable – possible
Titans/Redskins Personal fouls reviewable – probable
Patriots Allow coach’s challenge at all times – possible
Patriots Fixed camera on sidelines, goal lines and end lines – possible
Patriots PAT from 15-yard line – very probable
Colts 9-point play; TD, 2-point conversion, 50-yard extra point -extreme longshot
Bears Both teams get possession in OT – doubtful
General Timeout instead of challenge flag – doubtful
General Definition of a catch – probable
Bylaw Eliminate cutdown to 75; Direct cut to 53 – possible

These are all the proposed rule changes with me saying how possible each are.

PLAYOFF EXPANSION

It has been discussed for awhile that the playoffs would be expanded to 14 teams and that some type of new reseeding. According to Chris Mortenson of ESPN, “One formula that will be discussed in the offseason is that in addition to first-round byes for the teams with the best record in the AFC and NFC, two divisional champions in each conference will get home games and the remaining eight teams will be seeded by win-loss record.”It is almost definite that the field will be expanded, the question is when? 2015-16, 2016-17 and if reseeding is real or just another rumor?

NFL IN LA?

A few possible stadium plans are being discussed with Oakland, San Diego, and St. Louis as the main candidates to come to LA. This feels highly likely as Los Angeles, California is the 2nd biggest television market in the country.
