NFL OWNERS MEETING UPDATE AFTER DAY 3: PAT’S, RULE CHANGES, BELICHECK, AND INELIGI

  • The PAT changes will be voted in may
  • Proposals for the rule change were all over the place
  • The feeling is there will be a component where the defense can score
  • Very good chance 2-point conversion will be moved to the 1.5 yard line
  • A rule was passed banning the use of ineligible receivers like the Patriots did in the AFC divisional playoffs vs the Ravens
  • The proposal to give both teams possession in overtime failed
  • Unsportsmanlike conduct penalty at end of 1st half now will be enforced at the beginning of the 2nd half
  • Bill Belicheck went off on the stationed camera problem, saying ‘We spend money to send the Pro Bowl to Brazil, we spend money to go overseas to London, but we can’t spend money to have four cameras in the end zone, four cameras to help determine the correct call in the end zone on certain plays?’
