RECAPPING DAYTON-FLORIDA AND WISCONSIN-ARIZONA

11 Dayton vs 1 Florida

The Flyers’ Cinderella story ends here, against the number one team not only in the south region, but also the country. It was a valiant effort by the Flyers but when your star player doesn’t play like a star player (Jordan Sibert: 0 Pts, 0 Reb, 1 Ast) that brings your whole team’s performance down. On the other hand let’s give some credit to Florida, the Gators came out and played great defense en route to beating the hottest team in the tourney by double-digits. A big turning point in the game was with about 4 minutes left in the half we were tied at 23. The Gators, led by Patric Young, Casey Prather, Scottie Wilbekin, and Dorian Finney-Smith went on a 15-1 run to go up 14 going into the break, a huge momentum shifter. This improves UF’s winning streak to 30 games, the last time they lost? @Connecticut on December 2nd, who will the Gators play in the National Semifinal? The winner of Michigan State-Conneticut.  Time for a little payback!?

2 Wisconsin vs 1 Arizona

“When you lose, it’s like a car crashes, it’s just — you’re done.” Those are the words of Arizona coach Sean Miller after his Pac-12 POY Aaron Gordon’s shot fell short at the buzzer. The number 1 seeded Wildcats fell at the hands of the Badgers 64-63 in overtime. Frank Kaminski came up huge for the Badgers, the 7 foot, 234 pound Junior had 28 Points, 11 Rebounds, and was 11-20 from the field.

Bo Ryan finally did it, on what would have been his dad’s 90th birthday he finally made it to the final 4. After 704 victories he has made it to collegiate sports’ biggest stage (until the college football playoff), the Final 4. Bo and the crew will face the winner of Kentucky-Michigan in the National Semifinal.
