VIRGINIA UPDATE 19th of JUNE!

Multiple Sports

 Six Virginia sports members were named to the 2012-13 Academic All-State team. Mark Amirault (Walpole, Mass.), Sean Keveren (Brentwood, Tenn.) and Catherine White (Roanoke, Va.) all played on the track & field and cross country teams, UVA rowing’s Sarah Cowburn (Worcestershire, England), women’s basketball’s Simone Egwu (Odenton, Md.) and wrestling’s Matt Snyder (Lewistown, Pa.) were the six included on the team.

To earn VaSID Academic All-State honors, a student-athlete must have achieved at least a 3.25 grade point average and be at least a sophomore.

BASEBALL

 Virginia outfielder Mike Papi has been named to the first team of the 2013 Rawlings/American Baseball Coaches Association All-America Team. Papi also earned First-Team All-America honors from Baseball America this season.

BASKETBALL

UVa Forward/Center Mike Tobey has been selected as one of only 12 players from across the country on the USA U19 Men’s basketball team!

Softball

Blake Miller is now UVa’s head Softball coach.
