WEEK 4 RECAP, WEEK 4 POTW VOTE
23 Arizona State 2-0 at 5 Stanford 2-0
Let’s start 7-0 Stanford, Cardinal ball and QB Kevin Hogan and he goes deep to Devon Cajuste who dives and catches it for a gain of 34! A few plays later Tyler Gaffney who runs it in from the 1 and Stanford is up 13 after the missed extra point. 2nd quarter now and Stanford ball, handoff to Anthony Wilkerson who runs around the outside of the Sun Devil defense and Stanford is up 20-0. Then still Stanford ball and Hogan goes deep to Ty Montgomery and the Cardinal are up 27! 20 seconds left in the 1st half and Arizona State punting and Matt Haack is blocked by Luke Kaumatule and the ball goes out of the back of the endzone for a safety and it is 29-0 Stanford! 32-7 Stanford now, Arizona State punting and Taylor Kelly’s punt is blocked by Ben Gardner! Then Stanford ball and Gaffney takes it outside for another Cardinal score! Stanford goes on to win 42-28!

Let’s start, early 1st and Florida ball, QB Jeff Driskel picked off Devaun Swafford who returns it all the way for a Volunteer TD but more importantly Jeff Driskel broke his fibula on the play, he’s out for the year and that’s going to be a costly injury for them. 7-3 Tennessee now and Florida ball QB Tyler Murphy finds Solomon Patton on a screen and Patton catches it and takes it all the way to the house, Florida up 3! 24-10 UF now, Gators ball and Murphy runs into the endzone for another TD and Florida is up 21! they goon to win 31-17, Murphy was 8/14, 134 yards, a throwing TD and a running TD!
15 Michigan 3-0 at Connecticut 0-2
Let’s start 7-0 Michigan, UConn ball and QB Chandler Whitmer finds Spencer Parker on the slant for a Huskie TD, that ties the game at 7! Then late 2nd and Whitmer finds Lyle McCombs for a TD and UConn is up 7! Then Michigan ball, QB Devin Gardner running with it and he fumbles, recovered by Ty-Meer Brown, Brown returns it all the way for a TD and it is 21-7 Huskies. 21-14 UConn now, Michigan ball and Fitzgerald Toussaint goes around the left side all the way for a TD and Michigan ties it up. Toussaint had 24 carries for 111 yards and 2 TD’s. UConn QB Chandler Whitmer was 16/32, 159 yards, 2 TD’s and a pick.
North Texas 1-1 at 9 Georgia 1-1
Let’s start, 7-0 Georgia and Georgia and Aaron Murray throws deep to Reggie Davis for a 98 yard Georgia TD and the Dawgs are up 14. 21-14, Georgia punting and the punt is blocked by Marcus Trice and recovered by UNT in the endzone for a Tulane TD and we are tied at 21! But Georgia would pull away, 28-21 UGA and UGA ball and Aaron Murray throws to the corner of the endzone and it is caught for a Georgia TD, they go on to win 45-21! Aaron Murray was 22/30, 408 yards, 3 TD’s, a interception and a rushing TD. His best receiver was Reggie Davis who had 2 catches for 134 yards and a TD.
Auburn 3-0 at 6 LSU 3-0
Let’s start early 1st and LSU ball and they hand it off to runningback Jeremy Hill who takes it back all the way around the left side of the defense for a TD and LSU is up 7! Later in the first, LSU ball and Jeremy Hill takes it down the middle for another score and LSU is up 14. Early 2nd, Same score, LSU ball and Jeremy Hill takes the handoff hurdles over a defender and takes it 54 yards to the Auburn 1 and then on the next play LSU would score so it’s 21-0. 21-7 later and Hill takes it around the right side of the defense for another score! 28-14 LSU now, LSU ball and QB Zach Mettenberger fires to the left to Jarvis Landry for another LSU TD! LSU would win this 35-21! Auburn runningback Tre Mason had 26 carries for 132 yards and 2 TD’s! LSU back Jeremy Hill had 25 carries for 183 yards and 4 scores.
SMU 1-1 at 10 Texas A&M 2-1
Let’s start, 7-0 Texas A&M and the aggies ball and then Johnny Manziel goes deep to Mike Evans and that’s a gain of 46 on the play so then Johnny Manziel runs right, Johnny cuts up, Johnny goes around a defender and then Johnny Football scores! That made it 14-0. 14-3 Texas A&M now, aggie ball and Johnny throws to his right and finds Malcome Kennedy for a TD! 20-3 aggies now and Johnny Manziel runs it in for a score and the aggies go on to win 42-13. Johnny was 14/21, 244 yards, a TD, a interception and 2 running TD’s, Texas A&M runningback Ben Melena had 13 carries for 71 yards and 2 TD’s.
Colorado State 1-2 at 1 Alabama 2-0
We can start 0-0, ‘bama ball and runningback Kenyan Drake runs it in and it is 7-0. Then, 2nd quarter and Colorado State’s punt is blocked by Kenyan Drake and Dillon Lee and then it’s recovered in the endzone and the Crimson Tide are up 14. 17-6 Alabama now and AJ McCarron throws deep over the middle to DeAndrew White for a ‘bama touchdown, McCarron was 20/26, 258 yards, a TD and he threw a pick. White had 2 catches for 65 yards and a TD as Alabama wins it 31-6.
Kansas State 2-1 at Texas 1-2
31-21 Texas and Kansas State QB Jake Waters fumbles it and Texas recovers! Texas would would win 31-21 but QB David Ash sat out the 2nd half due to a head injury. Texas RB Jonathan Gray had 28 carries for 141 yards and 2 scores.
Michigan State 3-0 at 22 Notre Dame 2-1
Let’s start, 7-3 Michigan State, Notre Dame ball and ND QB Tommy Rees finds TJ Jones for a TD and the Fighting Irish are up 10-7! 10-10 now, ND ball on the goalline and they hand it off to Cam McDaniel for a TD and they would go on to win 17-13. Michigan State QB Connor Cook was 16/32, 135 yards and a TD. ND QB Tommy Rees was 14/34, 142 yards, and a TD.
Purdue 1-2 at 24 Wisconsin 2-1
Let’s start 7-0 Wisconsin and Wisconsin ball and James White takes it up the middle, jukes 2 defenders and takes it to the house! 14-10 Badgers now and Wisconsin ball and Melvin Gordon takes it to the house for Wisconsin and the Badgers are up 11. 3rd quarter and Gordon takes the handoff breaks a tackle and takes it around the right side for a TD! Wisconsin would go on to win 41-10. White had 16 carries for 145 yards and a TD, Gordon had 16 carries for 147 yards and 3 TD’s!
Utah State 2-1 at USC 2-1
Let’s start 1st quarter, USC ball and Cody Kessler pitches it outside to Tre Madden who takes it in for the score and USC is on the board first. 2nd quarter now, Utah State ball and Chuckie Keeton finds Brandon Swindall and Swindall makes a nice grab to haulit in and we are tied at 7. Then USC ball and Kessler goes over-the-middle to Xavier Grimble and the Trojans are back up 7! They would win 17-14, Kessler was 13/27, 164 yards and a TD. Keeton was 21/39, 179 yards and 2 TD’s.
LA-Monroe 2-1 at 20 Baylor 2-0
Let’s start early 1st and Baylor ball and QB Bryce Petty goes deep to Antwan Goodley and that’s a Baylor TD. 49-7 Baylor now, Baylor ball and Lache Seastrunk takes a handoff around the right side all the way for a Baylor TD and they go on to win 70-7. Petty was 18/27, 351 yards, 4 throwing and 1 rushing TD. Goodley had 5 grabs for a buck 56 yards and 2 TD’s!

Let’s start, 7-0 UCLA, UCLA ball and UCLA QB Brett Hundley drops back, throws to his left and that’s another touchdown for the Bruins and it’s 14-zip! UCLA would win 59-13. Hundley was 23/25, 280 yards, 3 TD’s and 2 interceptions. Running back Jordon James had 19 carries for 164 yards and 2 TD’s.
Utah 2-1 at BYU 1-1
Let’s start 6-0 Utah and Utah QB Travis Wilson finds Anthony Denham on a screen pass and Denham runs it into the endzone for a TD and it is 13-zip Utes. 13-6 Utah now and Wilson finds Karl Williams on a baby slant for a TD and it’s 20-6! 20-13 Utah now and 4th down for BYU and BYU QB Taysom Hill throws and is picked off and Utah wins 20-13. Utah QB Travis Wilson was 24/35, 273 yards and 2 scores. BYU QB Hill was 18/48, 260 Yards and a interception.
South Dakota State 3-0 at Nebraska 2-1
Let’s start 17-14 Jackrabbits but Nebraska ball and Ameer Abdullah takes it up the middle for a TD and it’s 21-17 Nebraska. Later in the 2nd Nebraska ball and QB Tommy Armstrong Jr. goes to the right to Sam Burtch and Nebraska is up 11. 28-17 Nebraska n0w and Nebraska QB Ron Kellogg III finds Tyler Wullenwaber and it is 35-17 Nebraska! 45-17 Nebraska now and SDS ball and QB Austin Sumner is picked off by Randy Gregory who returns it all the way for Nebraska TD and they go on to win 59-20! Abdullah had 15 carries for 139 yards and a TD! Nebraska running back Imani Cross had 10 carries for 60 yards and 2 scores.

Marshall 2-1 at Virginia Tech 2-1
Let’s start, overtime, tied at 21, Marshall attempting a field goal to win the game and it’s blocked! So VT has a chance! 3rd OT Logan Thomas runs it in for VT and they go for 2 and get it so it’s 29-21 VT and Marshall needs to score to stay in the game and on 4th down and Marshall QB Rakeem Cato throws to Davonte Allen who drops it and VT escapes with a 29-21 win! Logan Thomas (VT QB) was 18/34, 181 yards,2 rushing and 1 throwing TD and 2 interceptions. Rakeem Cato (Marshall QB) was 19/41, 228 yards and 2 throwing TD’s and 2 INT’s and a rushing TD.
Toledo 1-2 at Central Michigan 1-2
I’m telling you about this game because of one play, Toledo 14 CMU 7, Toledo ball and QB Terrance Owens throws to Alonzo Russell who jumps up and makes an amazing 1-handed catch for the TD and Toledo would go on to win 38-17. Owens was 13/17, 139 yards and a TD! CMU QB Cooper Rush was14/24, 214 yards, a TD and 2 interceptions in the game.
Vanderbilt 2-1 at UMass 0-3
1 play from this one as well, 10-7 Vandy and Vandy ball and Vandy QB Austyn Carta-Samuels finds Jordan Matthews who hurdles a defender into the endzone Vandy would go on to win 24-7. Carta-Samuels was 18/27, 219 yards, 2 TD’s and and INT. Vandy receiver Jonathan Krause had 6 catches for 105 and a score.
Delaware State 0-2 at North Dakota State 2-0
Last game, Let’s start 7-0 NDSU and NDSU ball and QB Brock Jensen finds Zach Vraa in the endzone and it’s 14-0 Bison. Later in the first,Delaware State ball and QB Cory Murphy is picked off by NDSU’s Marcus Williams who returns it all the way for the TD and NDSU would go on to win 51-0. NDSU QB Brock Jensen was 13/20, 138 yards and 3 TD’s, NDSU running back John Crockett had 9 carries for 85 yards and a score.
