Before the season Kirk Cousins was someone battling for the starting against RG3, someone that has gotten injured approximately 135 Quintilian times. Now, the former 5th rounder is a strong candidate for the franchise tag. He lead the Redskins to their first playoff berth in 3 or 4 years.

#2 – Tyrod Taylor, Buffalo Bills

Before the year began Tyrod Taylor was a free agent and later the third string quarterback for the Bills.  Now, he has been named Sports Illustrated’s surprise player of 2015. While Buffalo missed the playoffs, Tyrod Taylor was named a Pro Bowl quarterback.

#1 – Carson Palmer, Arizona Cardinals

Two knee surgeries, no playoff wins in his career in 3 chances. But was there ever any question that Carson Palmer was going to be #1. He led the Cardinals to a exciting year in 2014 but it all came crashing down after a knee surgery from a decade ago popped up again, putting an end to his season. This year he came back with a vengeance, leading the Cardinals to an NFC West title and multiple weeks at #1 in the NFL. Although Arizona came up short in the NFC Title Game he had a season worthy of NFL MVP contention… and noone saw it coming.
