ACC TOURNAMENT: QUICK REACTIONS AND TOURNAMENT IMPLACATIONS!

In this article I will be telling you my reactions and NCAA tourney implications for Friday’s ACC tournament games. I hope you enjoy this special, on-site coverage.

GAME 1: (1) Virginia vs (9) Florida State

Reaction: The ‘Hoos didn’t play amazing but still steamrolled the ‘Noles 64-51

Tournament Implications: UVA: Pretty much locks them as a 3 seed at worst.
Tournament Implications: FSU: Knocks them down quite a bit and maybe even puts them off  the bubble.

GAME 2: (5) Pittsburgh vs (4) North Carolina

Reaction: Pitt almost blew a 19-point lead but key free-throw shooting down the stretch carried the Panthers to a 5 point over the Heels and a mostly pro-UNC crowd in Greensboro.

Tournament Implications: PITT: Nearly if not completely locks them into the tourney.
Tournament Implications: UNC: Probably drops them a line. (4 seed to 5)

GAME 3: (7) NC State vs (2) Syracuse

Reaction: The best game of the night in my opinion, very competitive till the end, Syracuse had a chance, twenty-ish seconds to play, down 3 and they got 6 shots off in the one-possession, and they couldn’t hit one, NC State pulls off the 3 point upset!

Tournament Implications: NCSU: Puts ’em in the conversation. They also have good wins over Tennessee, Pitt and FSU. However they’ve lost to Wake, Miami, Clemson, and North Carolina Central. They’re a bubble team now.
Tournament Implications: CUSE: Probably drops them to a 3 seed, maybe even a 4 depending on how things shake out.

GAME 4: (3) Duke vs (6) Clemson

Reaction: I still think that the foul shouldn’t have been called on Clemson with 2 seconds left, those free-throws gave Duke the lead and the win, 63-62.

Tournament Implications: DUKE: Locks they’re “3 at worst” status like Virginia.
Tournament Implications: CLEM: Ends any hope they had at an at-large bid.
