COLLEGE FOOTBALL PICKS WEEK 13

Phil Steele: 89-31 (74%)

Me: 90-30 (75%)

No. 2 Alabama Crimson Tide atAuburn Tigers

Saturday, 3:30, CBS

Auburn, a preseason national title contender just clinched a bowl last week but they would love spoil their bitter rival’s College Football Playoff dream. Alabama has looked unstoppable ever since the early season loss to Ole Miss. Despite the home field advantage Auburn looks to have very little to no chance of upsetting the Tide on their way to the SEC Title game.

The Pick: Alabama

No. 1 Clemson Tigers at South Carolina Gamecocks

Saturday, noon, ESPN

South Carolina’s season is basically over…however the 3-8 Gamecocks still have one thing left to play for, ruining their arch rival’s best season in school history. the Gamecocks will come out playing with passion but eventually Clemson’s talent advantage will over power South Carolina and carry the Tigers to a playoff win and your in game vs North Carolina.

The Pick: Clemson

Wisconsin Badgers at Minnesota Golden Gophers

Saturday, 3:30, Big Ten Network

Minnesota is playing for a bowl at 5-6, so they will leave EVERYTHING on the field to make it there. Wisconsin is coming off of a loss to Northwestern. The Badgers are a better team than the Golden Gophers but under the circumstances, at home with a bowl game on the line I think the Gophers can pull it off.

The Pick: Minnesota

No. 18 Ole Miss Rebels at No. 21 Mississippi State Bulldogs

Saturday, 7:15, ESPN2

Because of games like Florida-FSU, Stanford-ND and OK State-Oklahoma this game as flown under the radar. Both teams are coming off of big wins. Ole Miss over LSU and Mississippi State over Arkansas. This game means so much to both teams and is practically a pick’em in Vegas. I’ve got Ole Miss continuing their hot streak.

The Pick: Ole Miss

No. 3 Oklahoma Sooners at No. 11Oklahoma State Cowboys

Saturday, 8, ABC

Oh I am excited for this. Oklahoma State is a dark horse playoff contender and with a few upset losses they could move up to the top four as other things sort out. I was surprised when the Cowboys fell to Stidham and Baylor but Oklaoma is the Alabama of the Big 12. Ever since the loss to Texas, Oklahoma has won by an average score of 51-19.

The Pick: Oklahoma

No. 16 Northwestern Wildcats vs. Illinois Fighting Illini  in Chicago

Saturday, 3:30, ESPNU

I picked Wisconsin vs Minnesota  earlier. Last week Minnesota beat Illinois and Northwestern beat Wisconsin. This game is one of those games that has potential to be an upset as the Illini is 5-6. However Minnesota was at home and they weren’t playing the #16 team in the nation, a team that has been very good in the past few weeks.

The Pick: Northwestern

Missouri Tigers at Arkansas Razorbacks

Friday, 2:30, CBS

Last week was Gary Pinkel’s final home game for the Tigers, Missouri fought hard but ended up losing to the Tennessee Volunteers. They will fight even harder, trying to get Pinkel a bowl game but Arkansas is coming off of a heartbreaking loss to Texas A&M and will come out playing hard too. Arkansas picks up a close win at home.

The Pick: Arkansas.

Oregon State Beavers at No. 17 Oregon Ducks

Friday, 4, Fox Sports 1

Oh dear, this is going to get ugly. Oregon is on fire, Oregon State is about as cold as it gets. It’s a rivalry game and anything can happen but…

The Pick: Oregon (by 40)

No. 8 Ohio State Buckeyes at No. 12Michigan Wolverines

Saturday, noon, ABC

I’ve lost all hope in Ohio State. The Buckeyes looked awful against Michigan State last week. This game is on the road on national TV in the biggest rivalry in College Football. Michigan hasn’t exactly lit the world on fire the last three weeks but the I’ll give the Wolverines the edge at home.

The Pick: Michigan

Texas A&M Aggies at LSU Tigers

Saturday, 7:30, SEC Network

I picked Arkansas vs Ole Miss earlier and these are the two teams that played those teams last week. LSU is a great team, but have lost three straight for the first time since 1999 (via Phil Steele) LSU is on a slide and I believe the Tigers will lose again this week, continuing the slide. If the Tigers do lose, this could be the last time Les Miles eats grass in purple and gold.

The Pick: Texas A&M
