PAC 12 Q/A
Q: Why so high on Washington?
A: They return their QB, RB, top WR, TE, 3/5 of the O-Line, over half of their front seven, and all of their secondary from a team that finished #12 in the country in the S&P+ rankings. How can you not get excited about that? Washington is a team that could contend for a playoff spot.
Q: What’s up with Arizona teams?
A: Arizona made the Pac-12 championship game in 2014, and Arizona State made the Pac-12 championship game in 2013, but both teams seem to be heading for rebuilding seasons this year, as both are at 6-6 in my predictions. I put Arizona ahead of Arizona State in my rankings, basically only because they play that game at home.
Q: What’s up with the rest of the Pac-12 North
A: Oregon, Stanford, and Washington State are all teams that have the potential to be very good this year. Stanford is actually in the top 10 in my preseason rankings, Oregon is in the top 25, and Wazzu isn’t far off. Because of this, I’m considering leaving out the Pac 12 in my predicted playoff rankings. The Pac-12 is such a deep conference, and they don’t have any super amazing teams so every game could go either way, leaving a lot of chances for upsets.
