ORIOLES WALK OFF IN 12

The Orioles won their 12th extra-inning this year after a shaky start from starting pitcher Chris Tillman as Manny Machado hit a lead-off, walk-off homer in the 12th to win. Ryan Webb (W, 1 IP, K, 2 H) worked out of a two-on jam in the top of the 12th to set things up for Machado who slammed Cory Rasmus’ (L, 1 IP, ER, K, 2H) 1-2 curveball to left field, 397 feet for his first career walk-off jam. Adam Jones and Nick Markakis homered earlier in the ball game for Baltimore as well. Josh Hamilton homered and batted in 3 runs for Los Angeles in the loss, their first in 4 games.

The Baltimore bullpen was great giving up only 1 run and 5 hits in 7 innings. “Our bullpen did a terrific job,” manager Mike Scioscia said. “You can’t ask much more from those guys. We couldn’t get that one hit that would get the game on our terms.”
