PIRATES WALK-OFF IN 16

Cubs 0-1 vs Pirates 1-0

Let’s start, Top of the 9th, 2-1 Pirates but Luis Valbuena singles to right field and that scores Junior Lake to tie it at 2 for the Cubs. The Pirates couldn’t get anything done in the bottom of the ninth and we would go to extra’s and in the top of the 12th, full count and Anthony Rizzo gets great contact and it’s going, going GONE! The solo shot by Rizzo gives the Cubs a 3-2 lead! Can the Pirates answer? Bottom of the 12th, runners at 2nd and 3rd and Starling Marte lines it to deep left field…AND A RUN SCORES! However, no more runs were scored until the bottom of the 16TH , still tied at 3, runners at the corners and Tony Sanchez, perfectly placed ground ball right through the third baseman and the shortstop, and the Pirates win in walk-off fashion, 4-3.
