VIRGINIA SPORTS UPDATE: 2DAY!

Men’s Tennis

Virginia tennis player Jarmere Jenkins was named the 2013 Intercollegiate Tennis Association National College Player of the Year on Wednesday. Jenkins placed 2nd at the 2013 NCAA singles. He finished his senior year with a 42-6 record he also won the 2012 ITA Indoor Intercollegiate Championship title.

Men’s Basketball

Taylor Barnette is  leaving the UVa basketball program just like Paul Jesperson because well, there really is no place for him, with the cavs getting Brogdon back and adding South Carolina transfer Anthony Gill (who had to sit out last year because of transfer rules) Barnette would get half the playing time he got last year, which was only 2 starts! Good luck to Taylor wherever he goes!

Swimming & Diving

For those of you that didn’t know, UVa head Swimming & Diving coach Mark Bernardino who led UVa to 27 ACC championships retired on July 1st. He needs a replacement! Well on July 10th they found one in Augie Busch, former head coach of Houston’s women’s swimming and Diving team has been named the head coach of the UVa Swimming and Diving men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams.
