Here we go, a new format! My Top 10 things you need to know about Week 7 in College Football
#10 – What happened to Ole Miss? The #13 team in the nation was on top of the world after beating Alabama, but since have lost to Florida and more recently, Memphis. From Top 4 to out of the Top 20 in three weeks, what does this mean?
#9 – #22 Toledo beat Eastern Michigan 56-20 and #24 Houston blew out Tulane 42-7 as those teams try to secure the Group of Five slot after the previous leader… (see #8)
#8 – lost to Utah State 52-26. That’s right, #22 Boise State was blown out by Utah’s little brother. Will it be Toledo, Houston, Memphis, or some other unexpected team that will take their spot?
#7 – #15 Stanford blew out #18 UCLA 56- on Thursday night, making the Cardinal, who were at first written off after a loss to Northwestern, the clear-cut #2 team in the Pac 12
#6 – #10 Alabama DEMOLISHED #9 Texas A&M 41-23 in a game that was supposed to be a hue test. The Crimson Tide have been on a roll ever since losing to Ole Miss, The Tide are ready for November 7th against LSU, and “Separation Saturday” proved it
#5 – LSU is a REAL playoff contender. LSU has been a little shaky, including close wins over Syracuse and Mississippi State. But a win over #8 Florida in Baton Rouge is a big statement heading towards a November 7th date with Alabama
#4 – Iowa needs to be taken seriously. Already holding wins over Wisconsin and Illinois the #17 Hawkeyes blew out #20 Northwestern 40-10.
#3 – Ohio State is still here. The #1 Buckeyes have been questioned as of late but they defeated Penn State 38-10 in a huge bounce back win.
#2 – Baylor is my #1. The Baylor Bears could hand sixty points on almost any team in the entire nation. I think that the Bears (#2) have deserved that, especially after a 62-38 win over West Virginia
#1 – #12 Michigan looked to be about to win a huge game over rival #7 Michigan State as they were about to punt the ball away with 10 seconds left until the punter dropped the snap, Michigan State recovered, and returned it for a touchdown as time expiered. I have watched hundreds of football games, but that might just be the craziest since the “Kick Six”
